JITENDRA SUVARNA UNANIMOUSLY ELECTED AS
PRESIDENT OF BILLAWAS DUBAI & NORTHERN
EMIRATES
Dubai 8th April 2011 : Billawas Dubai
& Northern Emirates (BDNE) an
association for Billawas in UAE have successfully
completed 13 years of its strong united
existence in UAE. As per the guidelines
and fixed schedule, today all the committee
members of BDNE assembled at Shezan Restaurant
Hall, Karama for the Annual General Meeting
to elect the new committee for the year
2011 being the 14th year.
President Mohan Attavar, General Secretary
Madhav Poojary along with the Managing
committee had invited all the Members
for the 'Annual General Meeting' and majority
of the committee members attended this
event. As per the existing bylaws of BDNE
the elected current committee will be
serving for two consecutive years which
may be extended to further two more years
if the members decide.
The majority voice of the Committee Members
requested the current Managing Committee
lead by Mohan Attavar to continue for
another two year term solely because of
the proven outstanding achievements' during
their term and to support them to conclude
various projects they have in hand. However,
it was very much clear that the Committee
respects the bylaws and proved that they
are not power hungry.
Mr.Jeetendra Suvarna, stalwart of BDNE,
was unanimously selected as the new President
of the BDNE for the next term of 2 years.
BDNE all through these years always had
a chosen set of enthusiastic members in
the committee which lead to the overall
development of the Association making
positive way towards serving the community
people in various fields back home. May
it be Education, Medical, Social issues,
BDNE's contribution to the society is
remarkable and widely known in the Community
circles.
Though the current committee nominated
Jeetendra Suvarna as the successor, at
the same time assured their commitment
to BDNE with the unfinished project to
complete successfully under his leadership.

Nirvana Technologies India, an ardent
Billawa himself has been supporting BDNE
for the past many years positively and
his contribution to the community is really
appreciable. Professionally, Suvarna has
over 35 years of experience serving the
waste management industry in the UAE.
He leading his company Blue Stream is
an expert in urban environmental development
& civic waste infrastructure and his
experience includes design of city scapes,
emphasizing the importance of the 'human
touch' in modern waste management technology.
Soft spoken but enthusiastic, Jeetendra
Suvarna sportingly accepted his new responsibility
challengingly to lead the BDNE to greater
heights with the support of all the members
of the existing committee.
Other portfolios and sub committees are
yet to be finalized in the coming sessions
and will be released soon.

AT THEIR 14th ANNIVERSARY CELEBERATIONS

Northern Emirates one of the premier association
for Billawas in UAE presented a spectacular
14th anniversary event in Crowne Plaza,
Dubai on 18th of November, 2011. The event
which started at around 10.30 AM in the
morning until 8.30 PM late evening may
be one of the lengthiest variety, colourful
and unique programme ever presented in
UAE. Billawas Dubai & Northern Emirates
(BDNE) programme was attended by more
than 1000 audience who were glued to the
seat till the end of the programme enjoying
every bit of their innovative creations
always said to be the first of its kind
to introduce.

Dubai & NE was held on 22nd August
2010 at Koragappa Memorial Hall, Shree
Kshethra Kudroli, Mangalore.
The event
was witnessed by over 700 invitees which
also included heads of various Billawa
Organizations in the district.

Total donations made by Billawas
Dubai & NE towards various noble cause amounts
to Rs 32,80,545 (Rs Thirty Two Lac Eighty Thousand
and Five Hundred Forty Four). The break up summary
of the total donation is as under.
Billawas Dubai has donated Rs. 15,65,325 (Sixteen
Lacs Sixty Five Thousand Three Hundred Twenty Five)
to 369 students towards Education Scholarship and
Educational Institutions.
Rs. 9,51,400 (Nine Lac Fifty One Thousand Four Hundred)
donated to 6 widows who lost their husband.
Rs 6,87,500 (Rs Six Lac Eighty Thousand Five Hundred)
donated to 31 poor patients towards medical help.
Rs.65,000 (Sixty Five Thousand) donated to 2 poor
people towards house construction.
Rs11,320 (Eleven Thousand Three Hundred twenty) as
other donations.

DUBAI COMMITTEE SACTIONS RS 7,63,000 TOWARDS EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP
AND MEDICAL HELP.
DUBAI
15th Aug 2010 : Billawas Dubai & NE will be distributing
around Rs 7,63,000 (RS Seven Lac Sixty Three Thousand) towards
education scholarship to poor and deserving students and Medical
help to poor patients on 22nd August 2010.
The
Annual Scholarship function will be held at Adhyaksha Koragappa
Memorial Hall , Kudroli, Mangalore. The main function will
start at 10AM and expected finish at 1:30 PM. Lunch will
be served to all the invitees.
This
year there are 232 students with 34 Engineering Students,
4 Medical, 1 BHMS, 1 IAS, PG 8, Degree 106, PUC 56,
SSLC below 19, Blind Student 1.
On the
same day 8 poor patients will receive medical help for their
treatment so that they can lead a normal life.
This
year Billawas Dubai & NE will also be felicitating 4
students for their brilliant performance with cash awards
and certificates.
Billawas
Dubai & NE is constantly trying to introduce procedures
so that the help reaches students who are in real need of
our support.
The
procedure for education scholarship application is explained
below. We request all parents and students, Various Billawa
Organisations applying for education scholarship to follow
the procedures given below otherwise their applications
will not be considered.

Mr. Shankar Poojary breathed his last on Saturday 22nd October 2011 in Udupi
. He was undergoing treatment for kidney ailment. Shankar
Poojary has been member of BDNE committee since its inception
and a long time resident of Dubai.
We pray God Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed
Soul.
